Eligibility Criteria
Check If You Qualify for Solar Battery Rebates
Battery Capacity
Battery systems with a usable capacity between 5 kWh and 100 kWh are eligible for this rebate. Only products listed on the CEC’s approved product list at the time of installation are eligible.
Accredited Products and Installers
Both the battery system and inverter installation must be performed by the SAA-accredited installers who will re-certify the entire system post-installation.
Primary Residence Requirement
The rebate is available for primary residences only. Rental properties are not eligible unless the landlord is also the primary resident.
Rebate Limit per Property
Each property is eligible for one rebate only. The rebate can only be claimed once per property, even if the battery system is upgraded or replaced.
Program Participation
Applicants must apply through the program before purchasing and installing the battery system. Rebates are available only when upgrading from a non-electric appliance.
SAA-Accredited Installers
Battery installations must be carried out by a certified Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) installer, because:
- Installer trained for safe battery systems
- Installation complies with electrical safety laws
- It guarantees safe, rebate-eligible installations.
