This rebate aims to reduce the upfront cost of installing solar batteries, enabling better energy efficiency and less reliance on the grid. It is part of a broader initiative to decrease emissions, reduce electricity bills, and improve energy security across New South Wales.
To qualify for the rebate, you must have an existing solar system or install a new one along with your battery. The selected battery system must meet the required standards for the rebate to apply.
If you already have a battery, you can still benefit from the incentive by connecting it to a Virtual Power Plant (VPP). A VPP lets you sell surplus energy stored in your battery to the grid, helping improve grid reliability during high-demand periods.
